Naso-Tubes

Nasogastric tube (NG)

A tube inserted through the nose into the stomach, can be used for enteral feeding, administering medicines or draining the stomach.

Nasojejunal tube (NJ)

A tube inserted through the nose, into the jejunum (second part of the small bowel) via the stomach and duodenum. Most often used for enteral feeding where feeding to the stomach is not possible.

Nasopharyngeal tube

A tube inserted through the nose, behind the tongue to maintain an airway.
