“Living with my ileostomy is life changing. Although a bit daunting at the start, it has enabled me to live a fuller, pain free life. I’m no longer searching for a toilet everywhere I go or not eating in case I needed ‘to go’ when out. My ileostomy represents all the difficult times that I’ve been through and has been the solution. It’s not perfect. I still get a bit anxious when travelling and I’ve had to slightly adapt my dress style. However, overall, it’s something which saved my life and has given me the opportunity to live my life in the best way that I can.”
