“Having a long tube hanging out of my stomach took some getting used to at first. Now it feels like a normal part of me. I have to be ‘fed’ (receive my formula) at a very slow rate or it makes me ill. I’m attached to my pump almost 24 hours a day. This is a challenge even when I’m at home and so is dealing with leakage from my stoma, but ultimately it is keeping me going. I’ve fought hard to be here and I’m determined to make it work.”
